Following the weekend, we are back with Premier League action already. Liverpool are 16 points clear of Manchester City with a game in hand, so it’s just better to award the European champions the English title already and look for entertainment somewhere else; perhaps the clumsy race for the remaining top four spots!
This race is the one where a collection of top teams just stumble upon each other in search for any hope to gain momentum for the European spots next season. Teams ranked #2 through #5 combined just managed a single point this weekend, continuing a bad habit. This makes life pretty difficult for fantasy managers that are screaming for a decent set of points from their expected star players from such teams, but that makes decision making even more fun at the same time.
The transfer window also doesn’t have too much time left, and we haven’t witnessed any big players arriving yet, but talk of Edison Cavani and the pursuit of Bruno Fernandes still emerge here and there.
Keep in mind that Liverpool face Wolves on Friday since there is no football over the weekend. The coming week, the Reds and West Ham make up for their Week 18 blank, so it’s a good idea to put forth a Liverpool or even a West Ham player as your (triple) captain if you’re that brave for this call.
