90 teams are cut to 60 - have you made the semifinals?

The early-season Blog Cup is now past the halfway stage — there are only two more weeks of competition, with week 12 deciding the winner. It’s going so quickly in fact that I realize I was a round out in my summary last time — this week was the quarter-finals. Of the 90 qualifying teams, those have been ranked and the top 60 have made it through.

Scores were high this week, so you needed a decent score to progress. 116 was the magic number. There were 28 already-eliminated teams above that score, so those earn one of Jeff’s “woulda-coulda-shoulda” kudos.

There was no tie to break on 116 points, keeping it nice and easy for me.

The semi-finals will take place in week 10, when half of the remaining teams will be eliminated, leaving the 30 who will contest the final. Should be a brutal week!
