I’m pleased with the way my UCL season has begun. Any time you’re top of the prestigious NMA authors league it means you’re having a good season!

I will say that this is not normal for me, as I’m often a slow starter in the UCL as I try to figure out which teams and players will be stepping up in the competition. But now I have something to build on.

I’ve spent big up front since day one, and while match day two didn’t pay off (e.g. Newcastle suffocating Mbappe), I still think this is the right strategy. I’m captaining Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane at the start, with Erling Haaland the most likely Wednesday option if Kane doesn’t produce.
Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham is the most selected player in the game for a reason, so I’m keeping him and Martin Odegaard. I did bring in Galeno who has been on the scoresheet, plus has solid matchups at a reasonable price. Fredrik Aursnes came in as a cheap option.
My defense carried much the point production last week, and I ended up with five defenders earning points. The Barcelona duo has worked out thus far, and Fabian Schar has been a good value at 4.5.
I’m a bit nervous about Ederson, as he didn’t start for Man City over the weekend, but I’m pretty sure that was just some needed rest.
