How injuries and suspensions are shaping the EPL landscape this week

As the Premier League season progresses, many teams are dealing with a rising number of injured and suspended players. Below I’ve compiled a list to help you avoid selection mistakes this weekend.


Arsenal FC:

The absence of key players like Thomas Partey and Emile Smith-Rowe due to thigh and knee injuries, respectively, poses a challenge for Arsenal's midfield creativity. Arteta can’t rely on Fabio Viera for help there either, as the Portuguese is suspended. Additionally, the loss of Jurrien Timber to a season-ending torn ACL further strains their defensive resources.

Aston Villa:

Aston Villa faces a a season without Emiliano Buendia and Tyrone Mings, who are both ruled out for the remainder of the campaign due to torn ACLs. The suspension of Boubacar Kamara adds to their woes, as does the unavailability of Bertrand Traore due to a knock. In his presser his manager also cast doubt on the fitness of Ollie Watkins, but reading between the lines it seems as if he is likely to feature.

Bournemouth:

Bournemouth is dealing with a series of setbacks, especially in defense. With players like Maximillian Aarons and Tyler Adams sidelined with hamstring injuries, and Ryan Fredericks, Lloyd Kelly, and Emiliano Marcondes facing various fitness issues, the team faces challenges on multiple fronts.

Chelsea FC:

Chelsea contends with defensive absences, including Malo Gusto, Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana. The midfield is not spared either, with suspensions for Reece James and Marc Cucurella. Christopher Nkunku's fitness is also in question, adding to the Blues' concerns.

Man United:

A long list of injuries has hit Man United, affecting various positions. Notable absentees include Mason Mount, Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, and Jonny Evans. Christian Eriksen's extended absence due to a knee injury further complicates their midfield options.
